The Indian Army violated the ceasefire along the working boundary on Thursday targeting innocent civilians, according to the ISPR. A statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) branch of the Pakistan Army claimed three civilians were injured due to the unprovoked Indian firing in the Zafarwal sector.

The Pakistan Army launched a befitting response at the Indian post killing one Indian soldier and leaving two injured. The post was neutralised, the statement concluded.

It is worth mentioning here that over 50 Pakistanis were martyred and hundreds wounded in cross border ceasefire violations across Line of Control (LoC) by Indian forces in 2017 according to a report. Indian troops opened fire at LoC in Azad Kashmir at least 1,300 times in 2017 at Neelaum, Nakiyal, Bhimber and Chowkathi sectors. The aggressive forces martyred at least 52 innocent citizens and 257 were injured.
